R.W.Bro. Laurie Langille, D.D.G.M. 2002 - 2003

Laurie Langille
was born April 1933 at Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. He joined the Royal Canadian Corps of Signals in 1951 and came to Kingston for basic and trade training. He was posted to the 1st Airborne Signal Corp and sent to Korea in March 1952, returning in July 1953 to become a paratrooper with 33 jumps credited. Laurie was released in 1957 with an honorable discharge.

He then married to his lovely wife Helen and had 2 children, losing one in 1995. Worked for the Steele Co., of Canada in Gananoque for 33 years. Retired in 1993. In his spare time: hr joined the Seeley's Bay fire department in 1966 and retired in 1993. (27 years), having served 10 years with the rank of Captain. He served as President of the Seeley's Bay Voluntary Fire Department Association for 10 years, was a driver and attendant of the Ontario Ambulance service stationed at the fire hall for 20 years.
Laurie joined the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 491 of Seeley's Bay in 1974, and held most of the offices, with 3 years as the first Vice President and 2 years as President. He is also very active with the Old Tyme Fiddlers & Country Jamboree, being coordinator and Master of Ceremonies.

Initiated June 1986; Passed November 1987; Raised April 1988;
Progressed through the Offices and
was Worshipful Master ifor 2 years;
Was elected Vice President of the Masonic Association of Frontenac District in May 2000; Elected President of the Association in May 2001; Confirmed by the Grand Master as District Deputy Grand Master of Frontenac
District, July 2002
